STRAYS

~ an animal welfare design competition ~

For my fourth self-designed architectural experience, I spent my summer working on an independent design competition called "Strays". The competition prompt was to create a modern animal welfare center in Bucharest, Romania. There were a slew of design requirements and submission requirements to follow.

The final design for the project is explained even more so in my portfolio spreads below, but I will leave you with how I summarized the project in my final competition submission :

"the goal of this modern animal welfare design was centered around the idea of creating spaces that allowed for a pleasurable experience for both the dogs living there & the humans coming to adopt them. designing with both beast & man in mind, the project became a series of zones and spaces that while distinct allowed for various levels of interaction. the final design achieved this through various design motifs, but also to the materiality experience and the defined levels of interaction."
